BBC Radio 2 LIVE in Hyde Park
for BBC
It was the third year in a row that BBC Radio 2 hosted a large-scale live music event in Hyde Park, London. For 2011, the station wanted to celebrate their best music with one special day of live performances from top international artists. Red Stone’s brief was to make a promotional splash big enough to get the punters along.
Approach
Using the station’s key colours, we created a sun-drenched typographic call to action for the event. We came up with the strapline ‘a festival in a day’, added the all-star line-up and took the message to the audience through posters, tube panels, flags and an animated sting on TV.
Outcome
The last minute addition of a solo set by Gary Barlow ensured it became much-talked about, with the largest audience yet for such an event.
