Training and career handbooks
for London Borough of Tower Hamlets
London Borough of Tower Hamlets saw the need for a set of targeted books for students living in the borough, giving a clear outline of the study and work paths open to them. The guides were aimed at specific age ranges: 14+, 16+ and 18+. Advice would include finance, volunteering, letter-writing, apprenticeships, courses and colleges. They asked Red Stone to come up with the goods.
Approach
The guides needed a unifying title, so we branded them ‘My Next Step’, to give the students a sense of ownership. The handbooks are image-rich and use motivational language supported by strong, dynamic typography. We also commissioned a shoot to depict identifiable landmarks in Tower Hamlets, making it recognisable and relevant to the borough’s young people.
Outcome
Strong demand for the handbooks means another year for ‘My Next Step’!
